Carraro's Infinity: the Precise, Agile Tractor

Antonio Carraro’s Infinity SRH 9800 tractor is about as close as you can get to a hit in the specialist tractor parade.

The Infinity with its 82 Hp, reversible driver’s position and hydraulic transmission was a finalist in the 20123 Tractor of the Year competition and won the Intervitis Interfructa Innovation 2013 Prize. Its next big appearance is a debut at the Enovitis field event at Ca’ Tron near Treviso on June 19-20.

Compared to its more powerful confrere in the range, the Infinity has a more developed gear change and a continuously varying transmission so that there is no interruption in the application of power, which is especially effective when loads are discontinuous or the ground uneven.

There are two mechanical ranges for the transmission, 0-15 km/h for work and 0-40 km/h for highway use. Each has three speeds activated through a button on the instrument panel even when the tractor is on the move, without any discontinuity in the vehicle’s motion.

The Infinity also has the Eco system designed to obtain maximum speed at low rpm, to guarantee low consumption and acceptable comfort in terms of vibration and noise.

The manufacturers say that the combination of the new transmission with the precision of the hydraulic system ensures versatility and dynamism, giving the driver an infinity of working speeds for movements calibrated down to fractions of an inch, but also for longer stretches when crops require constant imposed speeds.

The Infinity also has ESC, or Electronic Speed Control to manage the PTO’s rpm and, hence the work rate, which can be monitored and controlled independently, ensuring optimal power use even when working is discontinuous.
