An important new development came up over the summer for Comer Industries with an historic agreement for the transfer to Bonfiglioli Riduttori of Comer’s full equity stake in the company dedicated to the production of its electric wheel drive units and planetary wheel drives. The move arose with the Comer Industries decision to concentrate and optimize its resources on “core” product lines for the agricultural and industrial sector.

For Bonfiglioli the acquisition comes an extraordinary opportunity to expand its range of planetary wheel drives to boost market share and complete its offer of solutions for electromobility, in particular for the material handling sector.

Also new is the Comer Industries entry to the German Mechanical Engineering Association, VDMA, with membership formalized during a visit of a delegation from Eurotrans, the European Committee of Associations of Manufacturers of Gears and Transmissions Parts, to the Comer Industries plant in Matera. Matteo Storchi, Comer Industries’ managing director, said for the occasion, “In line with the corporate mission to be preferred supplier of the leading manufacturers of agricultural machinery, construction equipment, industrial and renewable energy applications worldwide, we have decided to join VDMA Power Transmission to sustain our company's success. This is a further step to strengthen our position in the growing market of Germany,” he added.
