The new Drago GT corn head is arriving at EIMA International in high style with a collection of technical innovation prizes awarded the component by Fieragricola in Verona, FIMA in Zaragoza and the Savigliano Agricultural Mechanization Fair and yet another award coming up at EIMA in the New Techniques competition. The updated technological profile of the component created by the Piedmont manufacturer Olimac, in Margarita near Cunio, ensures the highest level of performance in various operation conditions. The self-adjusting deck plates and QuadSuspension™ work to reduce ear “butt shelling,” a significant source of kernel yield loss at harvest and open automatically and simultaneously according to the differing sizes of the stalk. This automation operates independently on each row and the operator need not make any adjustment. Another plus for the innovative content is the Drago GT equipped with a double stalk chopper with a sensitive scissors effect with four blades working on each row. Two of them work on one side, the other on the opposite side, but with inverted rotation like a pair of scissors. This configuration makes it possible to separate the ears from the stalk and kernels leaving the finely shredded stalks on the ground for windrowing. The new corn head is welcomed for harvesting flattened ears with the Drago GT’s largest auger in the industry designed to move material faster and more gently for greater speed on dry and flattened ears while eliminating kernel loss and raising the performance of the harvester to a maximum.
