Drop Save, the eco-friendly nebulizer by Ideal

October - November 2016 | Back

With a recovery rate of up to 50% of the delivered liquid, Drop Save is a specific machine for the pesticide treatment of vineyards, showing the attention to technological innovation for environmental sustainability of the designers from Ideal of Castelbaldo (Padua). Drop Save is a nebulizer with recovery of the product, equipped with four panels that are positioned to the right and left of the row to work on both sides simultaneously. From a strictly operational viewpoint, the machine branded Ideal exploits the Venturi system, by which the product is finely micronized through the air that comes out at high speed from the diffusers installed on each panel. All the excess liquid that is not deposited on the leaves hits the opposite panel and is recovered, sent back to the main tank through a patented depressurization system, and later put back into circulation to be delivered again. For this model, the company from Padua presents at EIMA International an important innovation: an app that interfaces with the machine’s on-board computer and provides a smartphone with a real-time set of important data relating to the operation of the nebulizer (for example: treated hectares, amount of product used, amount of recovered liquid), thus facilitating the completion of the campaign records.

Among the other “bestsellers” by Ideal, the Bologna event shines a light on Perfection, the specific atomizer for orchards characterized by a contra-rotating double propeller (one to the right and one to the left). Perfection has been designed by the technicians of the Padua company to allow a perfectly uniform distribution of the product on both sides and to superimpose special conveyors, which allow to better orient the product on the desired crop, thus avoiding unnecessary drifts, saving time and pesticides.
