The Kverneland Group is preparing to arrive at the Bologna exposition, on the calendar for next November 12 to 16, for the debut on the Italian market of two new models.

The Chopper FHP Plus: for performance and reliability

This side pivoting FHP, built to complete the range of Kverneland machines for the maintenance of greenery, is compact and features a rounded shape for a perfect view of the chopping area. The great reliability of the machine is enhanced by an accumulator which prevents any damages due to collision with obstacles thanks to automatic folding and by the external location of the gearbox to ensure excellent agility in maneuvers. The transmission is based on a gearbox with integrated freewheel up to 150 Hp, two lateral pulleys driving five belts and an automatic tensioner which makes certain the power transmitted to the rotor remains constant. The cutter group can be equipped with various types of blades, universal Y knives, hammers or helicodial knives, and the introduction of a new generation rotor with an ample diameter of 450 mm with precise balance and high rotation speed at 1980 rpm guarantees equally high performance for chopping brush, grass and light wood in all work conditions with a modest power requirement of 70/120 Hp. The FHP Plus chopper is built with a work width of 2.3 meters and will soon be available with a width of 2.5 meters.

DG II seed drill for precision farming

The second new model up for presentation by the Norwegian group is the 12-meter DG II pneumatic cereal seed drill with a 6,000 liter hopper capacity designed for the requirements of precision farming but also as a conventional seeder for conservation agriculture. The new Kverneland seed drill is, in fact, ISOBUS compatible, equipped not only with GEOCONTROL and Variable Ratio Regulation but also with a total control system for the hydraulics for the easy handling of the DG in field, in headland turning and during road transport. The system provides the tractor driver direct control of cutter pressure, turbine speed, the row marker and the folding sequence. Another high-tech feature is the new Accord seed metering electric transmission which ensures precision, capacity and simplicity of calculating seed inputs with no need of maintenance. Any type of seed can be distributed using four sprockets by simply pressing a button. Yet another DG II strong point is versatility made possible by mounting various pieces of equipment such as clod board tines recommended for plowed or rough fields or the Tine Section which boosts the performance of the machine. In general, with an hourly output of 17 hectares the DG II guarantees great productivity levels. Adding to this performance are new maintenance-free disc coulters designed for work on terrain with substantial quantities of crop residues. Thanks to the large diameter of the coulters and inter-row spacing of as much as 17.5 cm between the longest and the shortest, the CD coulters greatly reduce the risk of clogging, even when seeding to depth. Coulter pressure can be regulated from 10 to 80 kg with the Active On hydraulic system for optimum seeding at constant pressure adapted to the various conditions of the field to provide the great advantage of having the plants attain growth which is more or less uniform.
