Bridgestone selected the REIFEN International Tyre Show in Essen, Germany, in May to introduce to the market their VT-TRACTOR agricultural tire developed to enable farmers and contractors to combine productivity, efficiency and reduced soil compaction. The VT-TRACTOR can work with lower inflation pressure and thus a larger footprint of the tire resulting in a contact area on the ground 26% larger compared competitors' tires to reduce soil compaction and increase crop protection. Moreover, Bridgestone's new tire also provides excellent fuel economy, up to 36 liters per 50 hectares compared to competitors of reference and a lower total cost of ownership. Lothar Schmitt, the Bridgestone Europe director for agricultural and off-the-road tires, said, “The philosophy behind the new range of Bridgestone tires for agriculture is to ensure a perfect balance between agricultural efficiency and protect the environment. Bridgestone Europe and the brand Soil Care by Bridgestone is a guarantee of tires that allow farmers to work faster, more efficiently, savings increased with greater sustainability.”

Bridgestone Europe also took the occasion of the Essen tire show to announce the launch of a new website dedicated to truck and bus tires and agricultural and earthmoving tires providing access to complete descriptions of all the products. A fundamental feature of the new site is the Find Your Tire search engine button allowing the potential customer to search for a precise model and size of tire compatible with the vehicle selected.
