Pezzolato presents at EIMA 2016 an absolute innovation for the Italian and European market, for functionality and devices. The new PTH 1400/820 ALLROAD self-propelled chipper is a machine designed to be compact for an industrial vehicle of this kind, making it easier to use even in areas with infrastructure limitations and limited manoeuvering spaces. Ideal for work on plantations outside forests, it meets the needs of fragmented and diverse companies. The PTH 1400/820 ALLROAD is equipped with four self-propelled drive wheels, all steering, providing three possible modes of steering: both axles separately, together, or only the front axle. The feeding inlet has been placed relatively low to speed up the work with material in small stacks, such as that in orchards and poplar groves, and with timber harvested in large stacks on the roadside. To facilitate the insertion of bulky material such as prunings, the lower feed roller was replaced by a longer feed chain, able to bring the material directly to the drum. The drum is designed to produce large high-quality wood chips, so as to best reflect the requirements of the most modern plants, and gasification plants in particular. The drum has a width of 1400 mm with a weight of 3500 kg, section-divided in order to better distribute the stress of the machine on the different components, reducing vibrations, noise and fuel consumption (30% less compared to machines with similar potential). The chip ejection fan with continuous speed variation allows you to adapt the system to the actual needs and reduce energy consumption. The turbocharged Stage IV (euro 6) 550 Hp engine employs EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) and SCR (Ad-Blue) systems, and avoids the use of a particulate filter. The cabin, fully glazed, is equipped with commands for the complete control of the machine, both for displacement and for chipping, through two colour 12.1” touchscreen panels. In addition, the cabin is raised to increase the area accessible with the crane and improve the visibility of the timber loading area. Among other new items in the Pezzolato stand, we note the Genius Wedge chopping grid, designed to get firewood calibrated in a single pass, optimizing the diameter of the logs and minimizing waste. The chopping grid of the new log splitter has two areas, the first is cross-shaped and is fixed, while the second sector is a grid and moves vertically to allow the centering based on the diameters of the logs, which reduces waste and splitting power needs. Genius Wedge can be paired with Pezzolato TLC and PROFESSIONAL 2.0 systems, or sold as a single splitting station.
