Agricultural machinery: 2014 market worse than expected

Data on registrations by the end of the year signaled a 4.4% decline for tractors and downturns for all other types of machinery. The total number of tractors sold did not exceed 18,178, below the figure named in forecasts drafted last November. FederUnacoma President Massimo Goldoni affirmed that another extension of the terms for the revision of agricultural machinery in use on farms does not favor the exchange of old units for new generation technologies.

2015: cautions outlook for Europe's agricultural machinery market

According to CEMA's forecasts for the european market, overall equipment sales are expected to drop by around 5-10%. This decrease, which follows the recent boom in agricultural machinery sales between 2011 and 2013, is expected as a result of the political crisis in Ukraine, lower commodity prices and reduced farmers' income in Europe

Tractors: slight decrease in sales on the world market

The sales of tractors reached in 2014 the share of 2,130,000 units, with a decrease of only 3% compared to 2013, a record year for the world market with 2,200,000 units. In numerical terms, India and China alone cover more than 50% of the market, with the US returning players with over 208,000 registered vehicles (+3%). The sales in Europe recorded a decrease of 8%. The forecasts for 2015 still expect high sales volumes for the Asian giants, with a decline for the European market
