SICURA, the new seeder produced by MA/AG

Important news from MA/AG, in Bologna to present SICURA, a seeder designed for sod seeding of winter-autumn cereals and all those specific crops that can be sown in line with spacing of 175 mm and 187.5 mm or their multiples.

SICURA has been specially designed for typical working conditions in Italy and Europe. It is conceived for planting in hard soil, but it can also be used on partially worked land. The equipment is towed, with a steering arms attachment, and is equipped with a sturdy and innovative central hopper-support frame and intermediate wheeled bogie equipped with large flotation tyres. The new MA/AG seeders in their SSP pneumatic versions are equipped with seed and fertilizer pneumatic conveying system, volumetric dosing, and hydraulic drive. The single sowing element is mounted on an articulated parallelogram, sprung and adjustable. Featuring two discs, one serrated and one smooth, mounted staggered with each other, with scraper plate and set apart so as to accommodate the seed inlet pipe. The soil penetration of the coulters is guaranteed by a 180 kg load, which can be increased by springs with adjustable preload. At the rear, two small wheels close the furrow to complete the seeding work. The wheels have a toothed margin placed towards the outside of the furrow, which has the function of clinging to the ground and producing fine soil for the cover and a smooth foot for compressing the soil and closing the furrow. The “SICURA SSP” seeder is available in the towed version with working widths between 3.00 to 6.00 m, with steps of 0.50 m, and a number of rows variable from 17 to 33. The weight varies from 3,150 kg for the 3.00 m to 6,250 kg for the 6.00 m. The required power ranges from 140 to 200 Hp, depending on the model. For the 3.00 m version, the hopper for the seed and fertilizer are respectively 1,300 and 600 litres. For the models with greater widths, the seed and fertilizer hoppers are respectively 2,500 and 600 litres.
