The 55th edition of the Lanciano trade fair of agriculture will be hosted from April 23 to 25 at the town exhibition centre. For the president of the promoting authority, Franco Ferrante, “the event has acquired over the years an important heritage, with a unique set of skills, knowledge and experience that make the exhibition a rare and specialized example in step with the times. Thanks to the attention dedicated to the world of agriculture, the ability to look ahead and satisfy the needs by giving constructive and concrete solutions – said Ferrante – the trade fair of agriculture has become a must for operators but also for all those who really care about the future of a strategic sector such as agriculture.

The province of Chieti alone has a UUA of approximately 111,000 hectares, with over 31,000 active farms, the highest number of Abruzzo, the majority of which are small-size businesses with less than 10 hectares of surface. The most recent statistical data available on agricultural vehicles registrations indicate that in 2015 the registration of agricultural machinery decreased by 20% for tractors and tractors with loading platforms (general-purpose tractors), with a slight increase (+5%) for trailers.

The exhibition – which every year attracts thousands of visitors and traders mainly coming from the Abruzzo region – provides an instrument to stimulate the local market, with new generation technologies, that today can be purchased in the light of the RDP funding available for the area.

In the three halls of the Fair and its outdoor areas will be hosted vehicles, machinery and equipment for land cultivation, machines for oil and wine production, products and systems for alternative energy, livestock equipment and then plants, flowers and seeds.

There will also be a rich programme of meetings and conferences on the main issues of the sector, such as the regional plan for the prevention of accidents in agriculture, the national plan for the sustainable use of pesticides, crop diversification for environmental sustainability and health benefits of the extra virgin olive oil.
