8000 series, next generation mowers by John Deere

Active Fill control, three-thousand hours of warranty for Dura Line components and a 6-metre Premium 639 collector. These are some of the innovations that the US team launched in 2018 on its line of self-propelled mowers, the 8000 series. Innovations designed to improve comfort and productivity

Imminent restyling for the John Deere 8000 self-propelled shredders. The American manufacturer announced for 2018 the introduction of some innovations on a range of machines already prized for their comfort and performance.

Active Fill Control. Thanks to this new rear discharge function, the launch tube is able to automatically fill the trailer when the tractor follows the forage harvester. The Active Fill Control is particularly useful in the opening phase of the field, when the operator must concentrate on the headland and the boundaries of the field. The device uses a StarFire 6000 satellite receiver which ensures quick responses during the discharge and, consequently, reduces operator fatigue. This way - explains the manufacturer with a technical note - you avoid product losses, especially on high yield crops.

Dura Line: in 2018 the warranty reaches 3,000 hours. The use of the Dura Line components for the forage harvesters was one of the most significant innovations introduced by the American company in 2009 because it allowed to reduce the wear of the components and, therefore, the costs associated with it. In short, a positive experience that has driven the company to guarantee the Dura Line parts for a period of 3,000 hours of engine work or for a maximum of five years. The warranty applies to all new 2018 forage harvester sales and only to the parts subject to wear available in the Dura Line Basic, Premium or Ultimate packages.

HarvestLab, the new generation. Dated 2007, HaverstLab was the first NIR detection system to measure dry matter in silage material and to allow automatic cutting length adjustments. Since its introduction, the device has been perfected, first to analyse the content of raw protein, starch, cleaned neutral fibre, cleaned acid fibre, sugar and other constituents of the silage, and later used with corn, grass and in other applications such as slurry distribution.

Today sees the debut of a new generation of devices, the HarvestLab 3000, offering an even simpler Web interface to be used for measurements when the machine is stationary, easier maintenance and greater tolerance of operating temperatures.

490 Plus Header. This is another one of John Deere’s innovations for 2018. It is a double folding head with large drums, designed to work on 12 rows.

It is characterized by better visibility during transport and is suitable for high power trenches used on high yield crops and in all working conditions.

But please note: this head will not be available for all markets, so it is best to check with the dealer if this component is expected in Italy.

639 Premium 3-metre harvester. It is designed to operate in very difficult harvesting conditions, since it has numerous reinforced components coated with Dura Line, able to resist even the most severe stresses.

Customized connectivity. John Deere offers different connectivity packages to subcontractors. JDLink is included in the standard equipment of all 8000 series harvesters (except JDLink Select).

The Connectivity Premium package, on the other hand, includes the assisted steering feature, JDLink Connect, the MyJobConnect work order management app, and the GreenStar 2630 display.

Finally, the Connectivity Ultimate package also includes the StarFire 6000 and HarvestLab 3000.
