Machines and agriculture: date in Tarquinia

The town streets of the Tarquinia lido, in the province of Viterbo, are once again transformed into a fair area to host the sixty sixth year of the traditional Agricultural Machinery Market Exhibition (Mostra Mercato Macchine Agricole) to be held from April 30th to May 3rd. In an area largely given over to agriculture straddling the Maremma in the Lazio region and the ancient Etruscan Tuscian Viterbo area, with around twenty-one thousand companies engaged in a large range of primary activities from horticulture to olive growing, with a concentration of land set aside for the cultivation of cereals alternating with crops for animal fodder in the Viterbo province alone, the date with the Tarquinia fair is a particularly appreciated event for getting an update on the latest technologies, the appraising  possible new acquisitions to uprate the pool of farm vehicles and the search for spare parts for the repair of vehicles already in use. As an adjunct to the fair’s original nucleus of market categories – machines and equipment for every type of crop-related activity from working the ground to the harvest – the exhibition plays host, in addition to the large number of wine and food stands for the promotion of the area’s foodstuff businesses, also to working vehicles for other sectors of activity, in particular for building and earth moving  machinery, with an area that sees the number of exhibitors on the rise this year. In total there are three hundred exhibiting companies with a growing presence especially of companies in the renewable energies industry, with particular attention to biomass producers and dealers. Space as always has also been given over to the exhibition of farmyard animals, cattle, horses and sheep with educational areas and sections for exhibitions and competitions of large animals. The new feature this year is the relaunching of the category of car and off-road vehicle – for work and leisure – with the establishment of a test field.
