Giovanni Molari is the new rector of the university of Bologna

A professor of agricultural mechanics, Giovanni Molari, will be the next rector of the University of Bologna Alma Mater. In the ballot with his colleague Giusella Finocchiaro, professor of private law, Molari received more than 1800 votes against the 1250 of his opponent, professor Finocchiaro. The election of Molari was greeted with great satisfaction by the entire agromechanical chain and in particular by FederUnacoma, the italian federation of agricultural machinery manufacturers. "With the election of Molari, a whole disciplinary area comes to the fore. Education in the field of agricultural mechanics - commented Alessandro Malavolti, president of the Italian Federation - is fundamental for the future of the agricultural economy and for the process of ecological transition". The use of new generation mechanical means, the introduction of new cultivation techniques and the development of increasingly advanced digital technologies require increasingly specific knowledge which are expected to increase the demand for specific education in the short and medium term.
