The Pöettinger Novacat A10, a versatile and comfortable mower combination

The new Novacat A10 mower combination was put on display in its own stand at Agritechnica 2017. The haying mower features an array of avant garde technologies designed to take advantage of the machine's versatility and ensure top quality operations

The new Novacat A10 mower combination, based on the powerful Novacat A 10 model, was a prized Pöettinger presentation at Agritechnica 2017. The mower is equipped with a wide range of applications designed to provide maximum comfort for the operator along with strength and first-class cutting quality make these mower combinations among the most productive in their class, beginning with swath formers. Following are details of the outstanding construction components.

Swath merging conveyor belts. The mower combination offers high performance and maximum flexibility thanks to variable swath placement. The conveyor belts are equipped with their own on-board hydraulics and equipped with monitoring to prevent clogging. Both conveyor belts are fitted with counter springs so the ground tracking of the mower units is not negatively influenced. In fact, if the belts are in position for operations but not activated, possibly causing malfunction, an alarm is sounded for the operator to cancel this risk. As an option is a continuously-variable belt speed control and additional accelerator rollers are available for regulating height to adapt the width of the swath. Another option is swath forming tines for running the belts only on one side for creating a compact swath as selected by the operator.

Select Control terminal. Coming as standard equipment is the control panel for the operator to select individual control with automatic function available to lift the mower units, synchronize the width adjustment and regulate the transversal swath belts. For the new mower Pöettinger also offers on request the equipping Select Control with Load-Sensing. John Deere and Fendt tractors can vary the work width by using the steering angle signals of the tractor sensors. For electronic control of the speed of the transversal swath conveyor belts working on slopes is a system allowing the operator to increase the speed of the of the transversal belt inclined uphill.

Cutting width adjustment for excellent mowing. The Pöettinger Novacat A10 Crossflow has hydraulic cylinders integrated into the booms for shifting front and rear the cutter bars sideways by up to 400 mm to adapt the mower to various work configurations to the right and left. This means a sufficient overlap with the front mower can be set of every cutting condition. Available on request is a device for automatic regulation of the width of work for automatic overlap in curves using the steering the steering angle with the tractor sensors to avoid strip forms. As an option is a lateral shift device which detects the inclination of the mower cutters and applies lateral shift to the maximum work width to ensure coverage of the entire area. This application also automatically sets the regime of the lateral swath belts according to the type of slope.

Nonstop Lift. This is an innovative technology that offers the best protection to the hydraulic collision safety device for cutter. Fitted to both sides, when the collision safety device is activated the boom folds back and is raised on a hydraulic pre-tensioned spherical support gimbal to avoid contact to any obstacle on the ground.
