Mentre le immatricolazioni di trattori nel complesso del 2020 sono rimaste per lo più invariate (solo -3% rispetto al 2019), l'improvviso calo del secondo trimestre del 2020 ha colpito il mercato in modo significativo e con conseguenze a lungo termine. Le immatricolazioni di trattori sono crollate di quasi il 20% nel 2° trimestre 2020 rispetto al 2° trimestre 2019. La risalita del mercato fino a cifre annuali quasi abituali ha dimostrato la capacità di resilienza della domanda nonostante i limiti della distribuzione, e le difficoltà che hanno colpito la catena di approvvigionamento. Inoltre, non tutte le fasce di potenza dei trattori possono recuperare il ritardo del 2020. La fascia di potenza tra 56 e 129 kW, che rappresenta quasi il 60% di tutti i trattori immatricolati in Europa, sta ancora affrontando un calo dell'8% rispetto al 2019, legato alla fase di transizione di questi motori a emissioni più basse che ha richiesto notevoli sforzi di ingegneria e di produzione.
