Due to the typical "form factor" of the tractor+equipment train, there is a clear predominance of side rollover (75%) in the statistical frequency of accidents, followed by soaring (20%) and the unlikely front overturn (5%). As a matter of fact, the majority of accidents are caused by a combination of these dynamics. Protective structures (ROPS) The problem has been well-known for more than 60 years now. Several solutions have been developed over time to limit the (unfortunately often lethal) consequences on tractor drivers. In realtà, la gran parte degli incidenti avviene con una combinazione di queste dinamiche. Le strutture di protezione (ROPS) Il problema è ben noto da ormai più di 60 anni. Per limitare le conseguenze (purtroppo spesso letali) sui conducenti dei trattori, sono stati messe a punto nel tempo diverse soluzioni. Dopo alcuni tentativi di prevenzione di tipo attivo, si è passati ad una più efficace protezione passiva, ovvero l’installazione dispositivi che non prevengono l’accadimento dell’incidente, ma evitano o limitano i danni a carico all’operatore. In tal senso, si è diffuso a livello mondiale il montaggio di strutture di protezione, ovvero robuste “gabbie” denominate ROPS (Roll-Over Protective Structure) che, abbinate alla For more than 50 years, Roll-Over Protective Structures (ROPS) protect operators in case of tractor rollover.
