Utilizzando John Deere AutoSetup è dunque possibile inviare queste informazioni alle trince direttamente sul campo. Oltre alle trince, John Deere rilancia sui trattori della serie 5G sottoposta a un aggiornamento completo, con cinque nuovi modelli – ora più potenti – proposti nelle configurazioni GV, GN, GF e GL. Quest’ultima, in particolare, si segnala per il modello 5105GL da 105 Cv che, oltre a fornire una maggiore versatilità in termini di potenza, propone un sedile conducente più largo per un maggiore comfort di guida nel lavoro tra i frutteti. Una delle nuove caratteristiche principali dei 5G è la trasmissione Eco PowrReverser Hi-Lo a cinque velocità che permette di procedere a 40 km/h con un regime motore ridotto, rendendo i trattori più efficienti dal punto di vista dei consumi di carburante e più confortevoli da guidare. I trattori possono essere equipaggiati con sistema ISOBUS opzionale ed essere adattati successivamente con il modulo telematico JDLink per la connessione alla piattaforma John Deere Operations Center, che permette di risparmiare tempo e denaro. Per gestire in modo ancora più efficace il lavoro su pendii ripidi e filari stretti, le macchine possono essere dotate di funzionalità quali Dynamic Steering e AutoClutch. Con il primo, la resistenza alla sterzata cambia automaticamente al variare della velocità di avanzamento. Alle velocità più basse, lo sforzo di sterzata richiesto è significativamente ridotto, soprattutto durante le svolte strette, mentre durante la guida su strada, la coppia di sterzo è più elevata.
