14 FOCUS proprio poche settimane fa sono stati resi noti i progetti per le avveniristiche macchine per la raccolta di caffè create dai designer dello Ied. Proposte finalizzate alla destrutturazione di macchinari tecnici di dimensioni ragguardevoli, per adattarli a piantagioni minori. Non una semplice operazione di stile su macchinari esistenti, ma una ricerca e una definizione di layout e soluzioni tecniche innovative, così come propulsioni e materiali intelligenti a minore impatto ambientale. Una nicchia, senz’altro. Ma un’ulteriore prova di attenzione verso il binomio estetica e funzionalità. E ancora. Non si può non ricordare lo stretto legame fra il gruppo Sdf e l’Italdesign di Giorgetto Giugiaro. Un rapporto stretto fin dagli anni ’90 che portò alla progettazione degli Antares ma che dieci anni fa, nel 2013, trovò un suo acme con il Deutz-Fahr 7250 TTV, ‘Tractor of the Year’ di quell’anno, un 238 Cv in cui – utilizzando le parole della rivista Trattori organizzatrice del premio – «il tocco di Giugiaro si nota subito ammirando il bel cofano monoblocco. Lo Straddle Tractor Concept (ovvero il concept di trattore scavallante), coproduzione di New Holland Agriculture e Pininfarina appunto, ha vinto la medaglia d'oro al German Award Design 2023 nella categoria Excellent Product Design. Il German Design Award è un prestigioso riconoscimento assegnato dal German Design Council, l'ente tedesco per i marchi e il design. Presentato in anteprima al Sitevi 2021, lo Straddle Tractor Concept è un concept appositamente pensato per soddisfare le esigenze dei vigneti stretti, con filari larghi meno di un metro e mezzo, spesso su pendii ripidi e piccoli appezzamenti. In queste condizioni la vendemmia viene effettuata a mano e la maggior parte dei lavori di manutenzione delle viti viene effettuata con trattori che si muovono “scavalcando” letteralmente i filari. Il design futuristico sviluppato da Pininfarina combina sicurezza, comfort e tecnologia: si ispira alla forma di un calice da Champagne, alto, largo in alto e affusolato in basso, come omaggio ai viticoltori di eccellenza di regioni come Champagne, Médoc e Borgogna. La cabina, completamente in vetro, offre all'operatore visibilità sui vigneti e tutt'intorno ed è inclinata nella direzione di marcia, aggiungendo dinamismo all’insieme. Nel complesso l’aspetto esterno della macchina si distingue per le linee fluide e dinamiche d’ispirazione automobilistica. Il telaio scoperto conferisce un look sportivo. L'interno è accessibile grazie all'ampia porta singola e presenta un sedile girevole. L'utilizzo della radica contribuisce alla sensazione di lussuosità della cabina e anche in questo caso si collega all'attività dei clienti richiamando il legno delle botti di vino. In linea con l'impegno di lunga data e sempre maggiore di New Holland Agriculture in tutti gli aspetti dell'agricoltura sostenibile e nella strategia Clean Energy Leader del marchio, il concept è stato creato già predisposto per la trazione elettrica, per un futuro in cui le macchine saranno alimentate da energie alternative. Previewed at Sitevi 2021, the Straddle Tractor Concept is a concept specifically designed to meet the needs of narrow vineyards, with rows less than one and a half metres wide, often on steep slopes and small plots. In these conditions, harvesting is done by hand and most of the maintenance work on the vines is done with tractors that literally 'straddle' the rows. The futuristic design developed by Pininfarina combines safety, comfort and technology: it is inspired by the shape of a Champagne goblet, tall, wide at the top and tapered at the bottom, as a tribute to the excellent winegrowers of regions such as Champagne, Médoc and Burgundy. The all-glass cab offers the operator visibility to the vineyards and all around and is tilted in the direction of travel, adding dynamism to the whole. Overall, the vehicle's exterior is characterised by flowing, dynamic car-inspired lines. The open chassis gives it a sporty look. The interior is accessible through the large single door and features a swivel seat. The use of briarwood contributes to the luxurious feel of the cabin and again links to the customers' business by recalling the wood of wine barrels. In line with New Holland Agriculture's long-standing and evergrowing commitment to all aspects of sustainable agriculture and the brand's Clean Energy Leader strategy, the concept was created already prepared for electric drive, for a future in which machines will be powered by alternative energies.
