Come spiegato dallo stesso costruttore in occasione della rassegna di Agritechnica, la nuova policy della casa statunitense si svilupperà su più fronti: motori a combustione interna di nuova generazione, carburanti rinnovabili, sviluppo dell’elettrico. Un approccio diversificato, questo, concepito per soddisfare le diverse esigenze operative, nel quadro di politiche energetiche sostenibili sotto il profilo ambientale. L'uso di biocarburanti, come etanolo e biodiesel – ad esempio – garantisce significative riduzioni delle emissioni di CO2 e John Deere sta lavorando per migliorare le prestazioni di questi combustibili. I motori Stage V, conformi alle normative UE, supportano miscele di biodiesel fino all'8% (B8), i Tier 4 Final/Stage IV e gli Interim Tier 4/Stage III B possono utilizzare miscele fino al 30% (B30), mentre Tier 3/Stage III A e livelli inferiori possono già funzionare con biodiesel al 100% (B100). This is a diversified approach, designed to meet different operational needs within the framework of environmentally sustainable energy policies. The use of biofuels, such as ethanol and biodiesel – for example – offers significant reductions in CO2 emissions and John Deere is working to improve the performance of these fuels. EU-compliant Stage V engines support biodiesel blends of up to 8% (B8), Tier 4 Final/Stage IV and Interim Tier 4/Stage III B can use blends of up to 30% (B30), while Tier 3/Stage III A and lower levels can already run on 100% biodiesel (B100).
