Del resto, il tema della rivoluzione verde è ben presente anche nel Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza (PNRR), nel quale si prevede appunto la creazione di boschi urbani e periurbani piantando, principalmente nelle 14 città metropolitane, almeno 6,6 milioni di alberi. Questo significa realizzare 6.600 ettari di foreste urbane e periurbane. Un impegno che non ha precedenti. Interventi di manutenzione. I principali interventi di manutenzione ordinaria riguardano: il taglio dell’erba dei tappeti erbosi, dei prati e delle scarpate; la concimazione e i trattamenti, quando necessari; le operazioni di sfeltratura e arieggiamento del tappeto erboso; la potatura degli alberi di alto fusto; la potatura degli arbusti e delle siepi; la potatura di rose e roseti; la potatura dei piccoli alberi (sotto i 5 m); la raccolta delle foglie. Quella del taglio dell’erba è un’operazione che ha un’incidenza molto forte non solo operativa ma anche economica in quanto le aree occupate dai tappeti erbosi sono molto estese. In un parco urbano, il tappeto erboso rappresenta il 40-50% della componente vegetale. L’operazione è eseguita normalmente con macchine rasaerba semoventi con conducente a terra e semoventi con conducente a bordo. Ad esse si possono affiancare i decespugliatori per le operazioni di rifinitura. Per la valutazione del confronto tra rasaerba con conducente a terra e rasaerba con conducente a bordo merita di essere ricordato il risultato di uno studio condotto in Francia da Plante&Citè. L’indagine è durata 4 anni e ha analizzato ben 215 coperture inerbite in diverse situazioni, per un totale di 10.000 ore di lavoro. Le macchine più utilizzate sono state i rasaerba con conducente a bordo aventi larghezza di lavoro compresa tra 80 e 275 cm. Per queste, mediamente il tempo di lavoro è stato di 0,03 min/m2/anno, contro gli 0,06 min/m2/anno dei rasaerba semoventi con conducente a terra.
