NEWS 98 NEWS CASE IH Steiger 715: salgono le prestazioni con il propulsore FPT CASE IH Steiger 715: FPT powertrain boosts performance di Emanuele Bredice In occasione del Farm Progress Show 2023 – una delle principali fiere all’aperto dedicate all’agricoltura, che si è tenuta a fine agosto negli USA – FPT Industrial ha presentato il nuovo turbocompressore a due stadi C16 TST destinato ad equipaggiare il trattore top di gamma CASE IH Steiger 715. La partnership tra le due aziende assicurerà un upgrade delle prestazioni del nuovo Steiger 715 – spiega FPT Industrial – con un incremento, rispetto al precedente modello (Steiger 645), di oltre il 10% in termini di potenza e di oltre il 6% in termini di coppia. La compattezza e il rapporto peso/potenza sono tra i punti di forza del propulsore C16 TST. La camera di combustione senza EGR (riciclo dei gas di scarico) è stata infatti migliorata per consentire un incremento della pressione massima fino a 220 bar, mentre il raffreddamento intermedio, insieme alla disponibilità di una coppia elevata, consentono una pronta risposta al carico. Inoltre – sostiene l’azienda torinese – il sistema di iniezione Common Rail di seconda generazione fino a 2.500 bar assicura un rendimento elevato del motore e un basso consumo di fluidi. Altro plus del C16 TST è il sistema di post-trattamento (ATS) esente da manutenzione senza filtro antiparticolato diesel (DPF) che, unito agli intervalli di cambio dell’olio di 600 ore, contribuisce ad abbattere i costi operativi della macchina. The partnership between the two companies will ensure an upgrade in the performance of the new Steiger 715 - explains FPT Industrial - with an increase, compared to the previous model (Steiger 645), of over 10% in terms of power and over 6% in terms of torque. The compactness and power-to-weight ratio are among the strengths of the C16 TST engine. The combustion chamber without EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) has been improved to allow an increase in maximum pressure up to 220 bar, while the intermediate cooling, together with the availability of high torque, allow prompt load response. Furthermore - says the Turin-based company - the second-generation Common Rail injection system up to 2,500 bar ensures high engine efficiency and low fluid consumption. Another plus of the C16 TST is the maintenance-free after-treatment system (ATS) without diesel particulate filter (DPF) which, combined with the 600-hour oil-change intervals, helps to reduce the machine's operating costs. Available in Quadtrac configurations the Steiger 715 was designed by CASE IH engineers for operators who need to work with large implements, on large plots of land.
