Per l’assegnazione dei premi in questa categoria, gli organizzatori del TotY hanno attivato una partnership con l’ufficio tecnico di FederUnacoma, che, grazie alla sua competenza ingegneristica, fornirà una serie di informazioni e dettagli tecnici preziosi per la giuria, sia nell'identificare i mezzi da “nominare” sia i parametri di valutazione. Parametri specifici, ovviamente, vale a dire distinti da quelli presi in considerazione per i modelli convenzionali. Altra importante novità del TotY è quella relativa alla sezione delle trattrici campo aperto, ora suddivisa in due categorie. La TotY HighPower, dove competono le macchine con potenza superiore ai 300 cavalli, e la TotY MidPower riservata ai mezzi di media potenza (da 150 a 280 cavalli). Se la prima pone l’accento sulle macchine di alta gamma e sul ruolo che essi svolgono per migliorare la produttività, l’efficienza e sostenibilità in agricoltura, la seconda invece si focalizza su modelli più versatili, progettati per adattarsi ad un’ampia gamma di lavorazioni. Nessuna novità, invece, per le altre tre sezioni tradizionali del TotY: la TotY Utility, che premia i modelli per l'agricoltura su piccola scala (con potenze da 70 a 140 cavalli, massimo a 4 cilindri, e con un peso operativo non superiore a 9.000 chilogrammi), la TotY Specialized, per i trattori da frutteto, vigneto, collina e montagna (con potenza superiore a 40 cavalli) e il Sustainable TotY, che porta in primo piano tecnologie e pratiche sostenibili per il settore primario.
