Agroenergies
in the spotlight,
with a new
dedicated Salon

ra le novità di questa edizione di Agrilevante particolare interes-
se ha suscitato il Salone AgriforenergyMed, dedicato alle bioe-
nergie. Tra gli eventi realizzati nell’ambito del Salone si segnala,
innanzitutto, il workshop su “Impianti innovativi per la produzione di
energia da biomasse”, comprendente anche la visita dell’impianto a
biomasse di Crispiano (Taranto), organizzato dall’Ente Nazionale Mec-
canizzazione Agricola (Enama). Con la visita presso la centrale taranti-
na Enama ha offerto una sostanziosa anteprima di “Visitiamo le Agroe-
nergie”, una iniziativa divulgativa che dal 21 al 27 ottobre aprirà le por-
te di 22 impianti a biomasse in tutto il Paese. Il focus sulle agroener-
gie è proseguito con il workshop, in collaborazione con l’Aiel (Associa-
zione Italiana Energie Agroforestali), su “Minicogenerazione da biomasse
solide. Sistemi incentivanti e proposte del mercato”, al quale ha fatto
seguito il convegno dal titolo “Il biogas come risorsa oltre la produzio-
ne di energia elettrica nell’agricoltura Mediterranea”, promosso dal Con-
sorzio Italiano Biogas. Di rilievo anche il workshop “BIOGAS SUD. Mo-
delli imprenditoriali sostenibili per il Sud Italia”, e i meeting –promossi
Aiel – dal titolo “Biomasse Agricole: normativa qualità, produzione e
compravendita”, e “Utilizzi a scopo energetico delle biomasse da col-
ture tipiche mediterranee”. Fra le altre iniziative promosse dall’Aiel, si
segnala l’incontro su “Biomasse forestali: linee guida per l’implemen-
tazione in Sud Italia”. Proprio in occasione di Agrilevante, l’associazio-
ne ha evidenziato le grandi potenzialità della Puglia nel settore delle
biomasse. Aiel stima infatti che la regione potrebbe impiegare per la
produzione di energia ben 400mila tonnellate di materiale secco, deri-
vante dai residui colturali delle lavorazioni di vigneti, frutteti, uliveti e bo-
schi. La sola coltivazione dell’ulivo potrebbe produrne 150mila tonnel-
late (circa un terzo del totale), pari a 900mila MWh.

uring this edition of Agrilevante, the Salon Agriforener-
gyMed devoted to bioenergies attracted attention.Among
the events hosted in the Salon the workshop “Innovative
Machinery for the Production of Biomass Energy” including a vis-
it to the Crispiano (Taranto) Biomass Plant, were worth men-
tioning. With the visit to Taranto’s biomass plant, Enama (National
Istitution for agricultural machinery) offered a significant preview
on “Let’s Visit Agroenergies”, an educational initiative that from
October 21 to 27 will open the doors to 22 biomass plants all
over the country. The focus on agroenergies continued with the
workshop, in cooperation with Aiel (Italian Association for the
Agroforestal Energies) “Mini-cogeneration of Biomass Solids. In-
centive Systems and Proposals for the Market” followed by the
conference “Biogas as a Resource beyond Electricity Production
in Mediterranean Agriculture” sponsored by the Italian Biomass
Consortium. The workshop “BIOGAS SOUTH. Sustainable Enter-
prise Models for Southern Italy” had a prominent role, as well as
the meetings sponsored by Aiel “Mediterranean Agricultural Bio-
mass: norms, quality, production, purchasing and selling” and
“Use of Crop Biomass Typical of the Mediterranean for Energy
Purposes”. Among the initiatives sponsored by Aiel, the meeting
“Mediterranean Forest Biomass. Guidelines for Use in Southern
Italy” was worth mentioning. During Agrilevante, the association
highlighted Puglia’s great potential in the sector of biomass.Aiel
believes that the region could use up to 400,000 tons of dry
residues from the cultivation of vineyards, fruit, olive groves and
woods for electricity production. Olive cultivation alone could pro-
duce 150,000 tons of residues (about one third of the total)
amounting to 900,000 Mwh.
