sitivo, nel 2014 sembra voler tirare il fiato senza
però allontanarsi troppo dalle prestazioni messe a segno nel
recente passato. È quanto riportato dal Business Barometer,
l’analisi di clima condotta con cadenza mensile dall’associa-
zione europea dei costruttori di macchine agricole (Cema) tra
gli operatori del settore, dallaqualeemergeunprogressivo ca-
lo della fiducia delle imprese nel breve emedio periodo. «Nel
2014 ladomandaeuropeadi macchineeattrezzatureagricole
si manterrà su livelli elevati – spiega con una nota il Cema –
tuttavia il sentiment degli operatori appare meno positivo ri-
spetto all’anno scorso». Secondo il Business Barometer pub-
blicato ad agosto la percentuale di imprese che si attendono
una diminuzione del fatturato nei prossimi sei mesi è aumen-
tatadi benottopunti rispettoalmesedi luglio (dal 41%al 49%),
così come è aumentata di tre punti quella delle aziende che
stannoattualmente riscontrandoun calodel girod’affari. Stan-

battuta d’arresto del mercato si sostanzierebbe in una contra-

pause for consideration” for the European agri-
cultural machinery market coming out of a two
strongly positive yearsandnowappearing to take
abreather in2014without straying too far however from the
brilliant performance turned in in the recent months. This is
what became evident in the Business Barometer put out
monthly by Cema, the European Agricultural Machinery In-
dustry association, featuringabusiness climate survey show-
ing a decline of manufacturers’ confidence in the near and
medium term. “Demand for farm equipment in Europe in
2014 remains strong, yet theoverallmood is somewhat less
positive than last year,” Cema said in a statement.
According to the August Business Barometer, the percent-
age of industries expecting a drop in sales over the coming
sixmonths has increased by eight points over themonth of
July, from 41% to 49%, while the number of companies
which are currently experiencing a decline in business
climbedby threepoints.Thedata releasedby theEuropean
industry association indicates that the market pause will
turn into sales off by5%andadownturn inorders estimated
at 5% to 10%. Still on the side of expectations, only Spain
and the United Kingdom, and Romania and the Scandina-
vian countries aremoving against this trend to recover the
losses of the recent past whereas other Europeanmarkets
are falling in line with the decline. This downturn is expect-
ed tobeaccentuated for theCIS states as the result, inpart,
of sanctions recently applied. The outlook of business peo-
ple in the sector is for the negative trend to strikemost se-
riously onmachinery for working the soil, components and
harvestingmachinery; therearealso forecasts for adecline
in tractor sales. On the other hand, the expectations are
brighter for livestock raisingmachinery andequipment seen
