US agricultural machinery market declines in 2024

According to data provided by AEM, the American agricultural machinery manufacturers association, sales of tractors and combine harvesters in the United States experienced a sharp decline in 2024. While the former recorded a negative of 13.2% with 217,200 units registered, the latter closed the year with a -24.3% due to 5,564 vehicles sold, thus experiencing an even more substantial downturn. «Sales of agricultural tractors and combine harvesters reflect market weakness. Last year – said Curt Blades, senior vice president of AEM – was in fact characterized by high interest rates and an unfavorable economic situation for the global agricultural economy. However, AEM looks forward to 2025 with confidence and will continue to support all those political initiatives that can have a positive impact on the sector».
