nerale di Confindustria. Dinnanzi alla folta platea degli im-

prenditori, e alla presenza del Capo dello Stato Sergio Matta-

rella e di due membri del Governo, il Ministro dei Bani Culturali

Dario Franceschini e il Ministro dello Sviluppo Economico Carlo

Calenda, ha fatto il suo esordio il neo presidente di Confindu-

stria Vincenzo Boccia. Salernitano, classe 1964, Boccia viene

dal mondo grafico-industriale, essendo amministratore delega-

Nella sua relazione Vincenzo Boccia ha espresso un giudizio sul-

la situazione economica del Paese, che appare in lieve miglio-

ramento ma che permane ancora largamente al di sotto dei li-

velli auspicati, che competono ad un sistema produttivo impor-

tante come quello italiano. «La nostra economia è senza dub-

bio ripartita – ha detto Boccia – ma non è in “ripresa”. È una ri-

salita modesta, deludente, che non ci riporterà in tempi brevi ai

livelli pre-recessione. Le conseguenze della doppia caduta del-

la domanda e delle attività produttive sono ancora molto profon-

de». Negli ultimi anni il divario tra l’Italia e gli altri Paesi europei

si è accentuato se è vero che dal 2000 ad oggi la produttività

dell’economia italiana è aumentata di appena un punto per-

centuale, contro il 17% medio dei principali partner comunitari.

Se si guarda in particolare al settore manifatturiero, la crescita

della produttività estera aumenta in modo ancora più consi-

stente: se in Italia il settore ha registrato dal 2000 ad oggi un

incremento del 17%, in Germania ha segnato una crescita del

33%, in Spagna del 34%, nel Regno Unito del 43% e in Francia

del 50%. La produttività, tuttavia, è frutto dei comportamenti ra-

zionali e virtuosi dell’intero Paese ed è quindi una sfida che ri-

guarda il sistema Paese nella sua totalità, chiamando in causa

questioni importanti come quella relativa al costo del lavoro e

al sistema del credito. «Alle banche vogliamo strappare una pro-

messa – ha detto a questo proposito Boccia – quella di torna-

re dentro le imprese, a parlare con noi imprenditori». «Nei nostri

speech Vincenzo Boccia expressed his opinion on the Ital-

ian economic situation, which appears slightly improved but

that still remains well below the desirable levels of an im-

portant production system as the Italian one. “Italy’s econ-

omy is undoubtedly back to positive growth – said Boccia

– but is not on a full recovery. It is a modest and unsatis-

fying economic recovery, that is not going to bring us back

to the pre-recession levels. The consequences of the dou-

ble fall in demand and production activities are still very

deep”. In recent years, the gap between Italy and other Eu-

ropean countries has increased, considering that from 2000

up to date the productivity of Italian economy has increased

by only 1%, against the average of 17% of the main Euro-

pean partners. If we consider in particular the manufac-

turing sector, the growth of productivity was even more sig-

nificant: in Italy the sector has recorded a productivity in-

crease of 17%, while Germany has increased by 33%, Spain

34%, Great Britain 43% and France 50%. However, pro-

ductivity is the result of rational and virtuous behaviours

and is a challenge involving the country as a whole system

and calling into question important issues related to salary

and credit system. “To the banks we want to extort a

promise – said Boccia in this regard – that is to visit the
