Last year registered a significant decline in sales of agricultural machinery in Turkey, with the tractor sector alone falling by 36% to 40,500 units sold. The downturn in the Turkish market affected the overall performance of Italian exports which, taking into account both tractors and agricultural machinery and equipment, fell by 20% compared to 2024. Despite the decline in trade recorded over the past twelve months, Italian agricultural machinery manufacturers have remained Turkey’s main suppliers, with a market share of 18.2%. According to the research firm Exportplanning, the partnership between the two countries could strengthen in the medium term. Analysts’ projections indicate, in fact, that imports of agricultural machinery are expected to return to growth in the three-year period 2027–2029 at an average rate of 2.3% per year, thereby fostering a recovery in demand for Italian-made technologies.
