d EIMA International la francese Michelin ha presentato in antepri-
ma la nuova gamma di VF AXIOBIB 2, progettata per le medie po-
tenze. «In questi ultimi anni – spiega il costruttore con una nota tec-
nica – si è assistito ad una crescente diffusione delle trattrici comprese in
una fascia di potenza media e alta. Si tratta di macchine che vengono im-
piegate in modo intensivo puntando sempre di più sulle prestazioni, con un
tempo di trasferimento su strada sensibilmente maggiore rispetto al pas-
sato». Insomma, se l’obiettivo è sempre quello di aumentare la resa opera-
tiva riducendo i costi, tale obiettivo deve essere raggiunto senza penalizza-
re la qualità delle lavorazioni con una eccessiva compattazione del terreno.
I pneumatici VF AXIOBIB 2 di Michelin sono stati studiati proprio per questo,
prevenire cioè il formarsi della suola di lavorazione e – grazie alla Tecnolo-
gia Michelin Ultraflex – per offrire indici di carico superiori agli pneumatici
della stessa categoria. Gli VF AXIOBIB 2, inoltre, si caratterizzano per un’im-
pronta al suolo allungata, dovuta ad una più ampia superficie di contatto (fi-
no a +19%, secondo il costruttore) che, stando a quanto reso noto da Mi-
chelin, consente di migliorare la trazione del 35%. Dal punto di vista della
produttività ciò significa che, secondo Michelin, con la nuova gamma di pneu-
matici è possibile incrementare la resa del 7% e ridurre i consumi del 30%.
Altro grande punto di forza dei VF AXIOBIB 2 è rappresentato dalla possibi-
lità di utilizzare tutta la curva pressioni del pneumatico, con una gradualità
che permette di raggiungere fino a 0,6b. Proposti in due versioni – AXIOBIB
2 VF 540/65R30 158D/155E TL e AXIOBIB 2 VF 650/65R42 174D/171E
TL – i nuovi pneumatici Michelin sono conformi alla nuova norma sperimentale
dell’Organizzazione Tecnica Europea per i Pneumatici ed i Cerchi (ETRTO, Eu-
ropean Tyre and Rim Technical Organization) e presentano anche la marca-
tura “Narrow Rim Option” (NRO) che consente di utilizzare una larghezza di
cerchio ridotta rispetto a quella autorizzata dalle norme ETRTO per i pneu-
matici IF o VF della stessa dimensione, aumentandone così le possibilità di
utilizzo. La gamma VF AXIOBIB 2 è indicata per i lavori pesanti e le coltiva-
zioni intensive (attrezzi combinati/pieghevoli, con utilizzo della presa di for-
za, per semina diretta) ma anche per le operazioni di trasporto – raccolta e
spandiletame, ad esempio – con trattori a coppia elevata.

t EIMA International, the French company Michelin unveiled
its new range of VF AXIOBIB 2, designed for medium-sized
powers. “In recent years - explains the manufacturer with a
technical note - there has been an increasing spread of tractors in
the medium to high power range. These are machines that are used
intensively, focusing more and more on performance, with a road
transfer time considerably greater than in the past.” In short, if the
goal is always to increase the operational performance by reducing
costs, this objective should be achieved without compromising the
quality of the work with excessive soil compaction. The VF AXIOBIB
2 tyres by Michelin have been designed precisely for this reason,
that is, preventing the formation of hardpan, and - thanks to the
Michelin Ultraflex technology - to provide higher load indexes to tyres
in the same category. The VF AXIOBIB 2, moreover, are characterized
by their elongated soil footprint, due to a larger contact surface area
(up to +19%, according to the manufacturer) which, according to
Michelin’s statements, improves traction by 35%. From the point of
view of productivity, this means that, according to Michelin, with the
new range of tyres it is possible to increase the yield by 7% and re-
duce consumption by 30%. Another major strength of the VF 2 AX-
IOBIB is the ability to use the entire tyre pressure curve, with a gra-
dation that can reach up to 0.6b. Offered in two versions - AXIOBIB
2 VF 540/65R30 158D/155E TL and AXIOBIB 2 VF 650/65R42
174D/171E TL - the new Michelin tyres comply with the new ex-
perimental standard of ETRTO (European Tyre and Rim Technical Or-
ganization). They also present the “Narrow Rim Option” (NRO) mark-
ing, which enables the use of a reduced rim width than the one au-
thorized by the ETRTO standards for IF or VF tyres of the same size,
thereby increasing their possibilities for use. VF AXIOBIB 2 range is
recommended for heavy work and intensive cultivation (com-
bined/folding tools, with use of the PTO, for direct seeding), but al-
so for transport - collection and manure spreading operations, for
example - with high-torque tractors.
