a 42ma edizione di EIMA International ha visto, tra le molte ini-

ziative in calendario, la sottoscrizione di due importanti part-

nership promosse da Pessl Instruments, casa austriaca spe-

cializzata nelle tecnologie di monitoraggio agricolo. Collaborazioni, que-

ste, caratterizzate dalla ricerca e dallo sviluppo di tecnologie finaliz-

zate a migliorare la produttività del lavoro agricolo attraverso lo sfrut-

tamento razionale delle risorse e la prevenzione di eventi calamitosi.

Una rete capillare di stazioni meteo

Il primo accordo è stato sottoscritto da Pessl Instruments con la ci-

nese Huawei, uno dei più importanti player globali nel settore delle

Tlc, per la progettazione di nuove soluzioni end-to-end, pensate non

solo per ridurre i rischi legati a calamità naturali e avversità meteo in

agricoltura, ma per supportare a livello globale pratiche agricole in-

telligenti e più redditizie. Il cuore delle nuove tecnologie firmate Huawei-

Pessl è infatti rappresentato dal Narrow-band Internet of Things (NB-

IoT), che a partire dalla metà del 2017, grazie all’impiego del nuovo

standard di comunicazione 3GPP, permetterà di connettere con il web

stazioni meteo, sensori di umidità del suolo e diversi altri strumenti.

Gli agricoltori – ad esempio – potranno così disporre di un’ampia con-

nettività per definire tempestivamente e in modalità smart lavorazio-

ni del terreno e momento di semina, o per programmare interventi

con agro-farmaci. Il modulo NB-IoT è una soluzione molto vantaggio-

sa – spiega una nota congiunta di Pessl e Huawei – perché utilizza

un chip parsimonioso nei consumi e a basso costo, con un raggio di

copertura molto esteso che consente di collegare ogni regione del

mondo attraverso la rete telefonica mobile esistente.

Agricoltura intelligente con le Water Solution Yara

Nel segno della produttività anche la partnership tra Pessl Instru-

ments e l’impresa norvegese Yara, specializzata nello sviluppo di

fertilizzanti, di programmi di nutrizione vegetale e di tecnologie fi-

nalizzate ad incrementare i rendimenti agricoli. Obiettivo dell’ac-

cordo stipulato ad Eima International è quello di integrare la Yara

Water Solution nel sistema di soluzioni per l’agricoltura intelligente

di Pessl Instruments, con l’obiettivo di ottimizzare sia lo sfrutta-

mento delle risorse idriche sia la nutrizione vegetale. Il nuovo si-

monitoring techniques. These collaborations are centred around re-

search and development of technologies aimed at increasing agricul-

tural productivity through the rational exploitation of resources and pre-

vention of calamities.

An extensive network of weather stations

The first agreement has been signed between Pessl Instruments and

the Chinese Huawei, one of the most important global players in the

sector of telecommunication, for the development of new end-to-end

solutions, designed not only to reduce risks linked to natural calami-

ties and consequences of adverse weather conditions on agriculture,

but to support on a global scale smart and more profitable agricultur-

al practices. The core innovation of the technologies developed jointly

by Huawei and Pessl is in fact the Narrow-band Internet of Things (NB-

IoT), which starting in 2017 and using the new 3GPP standard of com-

munication will allow to connect remote weather stations, soil moistures

sensors and many other devices to the internet. Farmers will, for in-

stance, be able to benefit from a wide connectivity in order to define in

a timely and smart way the best solutions for tillage and seeding, or to

plan the application of plant protection products. NB-IoT is a highly re-

warding solution – a joint note by Pessl and Huawei explains – because

it uses a low-cost chip that will reduce consumption, and extensive cov-

erage that allows to connect all regions of the world through the already

existing mobile telephone network.

Smart agriculture with the Yara Water Solution

Also the agreement reached by Pessl Instruments and the Norwegian

Yara, specialized in the development of fertilizers, crop nutrition pro-
