The history of Mita in India begins thirty years ago. In 1999, the CBM Group, specialized in the design and production of coupling, towing and lifting equipment for agricultural tractors, decides to follow its customers tractor manufacturers in India, thus creating a joint venture between Mita Oleodinamica (majority shareholder) and Harig India for the production of hydraulic lifts required by the local and Eastern market. In order to follow up the collaboration, a manufacturing plant was built in Ghaziabad, near New Delhi. The growth plan did not stop and in 2006 the headquarters were expanded: the goal was to expand the business, also introducing the production of three-point hitches. In 2010, CBM Group takes over 100% of the company, which becomes MITA INDIA Pvt Ltd. In 2018, a second production facility is opened in Dewas, in the Madhya Pradesh region. The new plant is equipped with innovative production systems and is located in a strategic area for agriculture. At this point, India hosts the production of hydraulic lifts, three-point hitches and towing hitches that make up the Rear Tractor, and they are supplied as standard equipment, with the later addition of medium-low power tractors (30-50 horsepower). The two plants are located in areas that are very beneficial for logistics: the first site, in Ghaziabad, is close to the main customers, while the new Dewas plant is located in a strategic area for agriculture with a strong industrial growth, as other companies are setting up, including major tractor manufacturers. During its twenty years in the country, Mita India has forged strong and profitable relationships of collaboration with the Local Authorities and with the Italian Embassy, which remains a fundamental point of reference. Mita India participates in the growth of the local economy by providing jobs and contributing to the development of related industries: around 700 employees are engaged at the two plants and the average annual turnover is 40 million euros. In the next subsequent years, a gradual increase in tractor power is expected, which will push the demand towards a product technology more similar to the European one, and Mita India has innovative and productive capacity to satisfy the market in its future developments. In this regard, it should be emphasized that CBM Group collaborates its customers, the main tractor manufacturers in the world, right from the first design stages, to offer targeted and customized solutions for the various attachment and lifting systems. The products are designed by the R&D departments of the Italian premises in collaboration with Indian engineers for the best outcome of the project. In India, the plant is equipped with a test bench with a camera that transmits images to Italy and that allows the technicians to exchange live assessments and proposals. As for the destination of the production, although it is true that the bulk is absorbed by the local market - estimated at around 65% of the products - the share intended for foreign market is not negligible. The remaining 35% is exported to the USA, Europe, Turkey and Thailand. The most popular product on the Indian market is the Gardentrac, a compact lift for small power tractors (20-30 Hp) suitable for the cultivation of local land.
