The Sky Jump isodiametric tractor by BCS Spa has been tapped for the New Technology award by the committee judging the Innovation Challenge competition for the Enovitis in Campo 2014 field trials of machinery in the vineyards of Cattolica Agricola - Ca' Tron in Roncade, near Treviso, scheduled for 19 and 20 June. The BCS Sky Jump concept tractor mounts rear rubber track behind the front wheels for high performance on even the most difficult and sloping terrain where traditional crawler tractors cannot venture while maintaining the advantages and comfort of four wheel isodiametrics while adding on the traction provided by the traditional crawler. This construction solution also lowers soil compaction to a minimum compared to disturbance caused by normal track blades and treadbars. The unique double Dualsteer system and short wheelbase with a low center of gravity make the Sky Jump ideal for operations on steep transverse row cultivations. Among the other important features of this isodiametric is the compact cab only 1.69 m high measured from the ground, essential for work under vegetation crowns, a rear Total Vision System video camera and standard approved speed of up to 40 km/hr for road travel. Carlo Cislaghi, the director of marketing for the BCS group, said the important new technology prize “confirms the value of our work and, especially, confirms how important it is to invest, constantly and decisively, in development and technological innovation. Our group invests in researching new products to be able to be different on the market, offer unique characteristics like those of the Sky Jump, a vehicle ideal for specialized operations.”
