Walvoil spa, part of the Interpump Group, is a world-leading industrial reality for the production of hydraulic and electronic components and mechatronic systems, with branches in four continents and diverse sales network, present in Italy with seven production sites - all concentrated in Emilia Romagna between the provinces of Reggio Emilia and Bologna - and 1,500 employees.

Recently announced by the company - which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2023 - major works at the Cavriago (RE) site will include the expansion of production spaces and the construction of an Innovation Centre. The new buildings will be constructed by next June, covering an area of 3 hectares, with an investment of 31.5 mln, for an industrial project that includes numerous new hires and transfers from other sites, for a total workforce that will increase from the current 174 employees to 400. Productivity will be doubled thanks to a new 9,000 square metre building, which will be built in architectural and functional harmony with the one already in operation. Next to these spaces, another 3,000 square metre building will be built, with a greater aesthetic impact, which will house the Innovation Centre, with the company's research and development laboratories, currently operating at the Reggio Emilia headquarters in Via Norvegia. This will become the reference point for all research activities of Walvoil's subsidiaries worldwide. The new facilities have been designed to have a low impact on the landscape, with green areas created for the wellbeing of employees and to offset the emissions of the various activities. Thanks to this investment, Walvoil's top management has budgeted an increase in turnover of EUR 30 million. Commenting on this important operation, Fabio Marasi, President and CEO of Walvoil said: "For this expansion we have once again chosen our local area: this is where our roots are, and this is where it all began. It is our will and responsibility as a company to once again invest in the development of our activities in the Reggio Emilia area and in the enhancement of the skills and know-how of our employees'.
