Agricultural machinery, the CEMA: orders are down, not turnover

06.04.2023

The sentiment of European agricultural machinery manufacturers worsens in the first months of 2023. This is what the March Business Barometer reports, the monthly survey conducted by CEMA (the Committee that represents agricultural machinery companies in Europe), which recorded a slight drop in the confidence index at the beginning of the year. In the next six months, according to the analysis by CEMA, the sector could be affected by a drop in orders which, however, does not seem destined to have a significant impact on the turnover of agro-mechanical companies. In fact, 40% of the companies surveyed by the Business Barometer expect a decrease in orders (growing only for 16% of the sample), but just 15% of the operators expect a reduction in turnover. In fact, for the vast majority of companies - 85% - the business should continue to grow in the near future (47% of the companies surveyed) or, in the worst case scenario, remain unchanged (38%).
