Agricultural machinery, Italian exports hit the top

Italian export of agricultural machinery soar in the first five months of the year. According to data processed by FederUnacoma, on the basis of the Italian Bureau of Statistics (Istat) surveys relating to commercial exchange between January and May 2021, the value of Italian exports of agricultural machinery scored almost 2.3 billion euros with a significant increase (+ 36.8%) compared to the same period of 2020. Particularly robust the growth of tractors (+ 77.3%) reaching a total value of approximately 690 million euros. Significant increases are also recorded in exports of agricultural machinery and equipment, which touch the threshold of 1.7 billion euros (+ 36.8%). According to the Istat survey, France, Germany and the United States were the main export markets for Italian agricultural machinery between January and May. In fact these three countries absorbed a share of 33.4% of exports of tractors and 38.2% of agricultural machinery and equipment. The strong growth of Italian agricultural machinery on foreign markets is due not only to a market recovery compared to the first five months of 2020, characterised by the effects of the lockdown, but to the positive dynamics in the global demand for mechanical means for agriculture.
