Raw materials, prices down in the second half of 2022

In the second half of 2022, the prices of the main raw materials cooled down, when compared to the first six months of the past yeat. The data, compiled by Pricepedia on behalf of FederUnacoma, show a more conspicuous drop for energy commodities, compared to industrial ones. Analyzing the individual changes, the category that records the most significant decline is that of energy, which, after the strong increase recorded (+40%) in the first part of the year, drops by 28%. Prices down also for organic chemistry (-13.3%) and ferrous (-10%) and non-ferrous (-3%) metals. Textile fibers and plastics follow the same trend as the sector, retreating by 9% and 8% respectively. According to Pricepedia estimates, the price reduction trend should continue in the coming months.
