Tractors, first half down for the Italian market

17.07.2023

The first six months of the year see a contraction in sales of tractors in Italy. According to the data, processed by FederUnacoma on the basis of surveys provided by the Ministry of Transport, from January to June, registrations of new vehicles reached 10,117 units, marking -8.5% compared to the first half of 2022. Substantial drops are recorded in almost all regions of the peninsula with significant decreases in Lombardina (-9%), Piedmont (-6%) and Emilia-Romagna (-4.25) which, together with Veneto (-2.3%), can be considered as locomotives on the national market. The data referring to the total sales of tractors however indicate a lively demand for agricultural technologies which still remains above the levels of 2019, when at mid-year there were 10,024 registered machines. The contraction in sales, according to FederUnacoma, is mainly due to a lower availability of funds to encourage the technological renewal of our fleet.
