Tractors, the Indian market hits the top

New sales record for the Indian tractor market registering more than one million units sold, thus touching its all-time high. The country confirms its world leadership, beating China (470 thousand units sold), the United States (318 thousand) and the European Union (180 thousand). The data were disseminated by FederUnacoma during EIMA Agrimach, the agricultural mechanics exhibition that took place in the Indian city of Bangalore from 1 to 3 September. The data released by the Italian association of agricultural machinery manufacturers also highlight the impressive growth, over time, of the Indian market. In fact, between 2009 and 2019, tractor sales more than doubled from 340,000 to 724,000 vehicles, to then exceed one million last year. According to the findings of the TMA, the Indian association of manufacturers, the first seven months of 2022 confirm the market at high sales levels (about 500 thousand units), even if slightly down (-6.6%) compared to exceptional volumes of the past twelve months.
