According to AEM, the association of US manufacturers, 2022 was a good year for US combine sales, reaching 7,267 registered units (+15.8% on 2021). Tractors sales registered instead a negative closure with 270,908 registered vehicles and a drop of 14.8% compared to previous year. The decline mainly affected medium and low horsepower, where medium-low horsepower tractors recorded substantial losses (approximately -20% for the ranges below 40 horsepower), while the high horsepower segment further improved its performance in 2021 (+11.3% for powers above 100 horsepower). According to Curt Blades, Senior Vice President of AEM's agricultural and forestry services department, the increase in sales in the combine harvester sector is linked to the technological advantages that the new machines can bring in the quality and quantity of yields.
