chains at
EIMA International
The third edition of EIMA Energy is taking its place
in the international exposition of agricultural
mechanization with a specialized exhibition of
machinery and systems for the production and
treatment of agricultural biomass for energy
purposes. The salon was organized by ENAMA and
ITABIA to provide a wealth of conferences,
workshops and guided tours for gaining an
understanding of the ways and means for the use
of green raw materials for energy production

questi elementi per orientare correttamente l’atteso sviluppo
delle filiere agro energetiche, senza generare contraccolpi in-
desiderati al settore primario nella sua tradizionale vocazione,
ovvero la produzione di alimenti o le utilizzazioni forestali. In agri-
coltura energia e alimentazione possono coesistere e non man-
cano le iniziative virtuose da cui prendere spunti per attivarne
di nuove, e ancora più valide perché frutto delle esperienze ac-
quisite. In questo contesto si svolge la terza edizione di Eima
Energy, il salone delle bioenergie che si tiene dal 7 all’11 no-
vembre a Bologna nel contesto di Eima International, che pun-
ta ad offrire ai visitatori un ricco programma di eventi informati-
vi su tutte le tematiche relative alle filiere bioenergetiche. Sono
previsti numerosi convegni e seminari dove i migliori esperti il-
lustrano le opportunità economiche, energetiche ed ambienta-
ergy production chain. A number of conferences and semi-
nars are planned in which leading experts will illustrate the
financial, energy and environmental opportunities offered in
this promising sector and also underscore the central role
played by agri-forestry mechanization. Within EIMA Energy
there will be no shortage of targeted joint information and
entertainment initiatives of the type which ensured such a
remarkable success for previous editions. Other than making
room for the ENAMA Biomass Project, Area 49 will host a dy-
namic display of agricultural and forestry mechanization for
the production of woody biomass. Thanks to the contribution
of the National Research Council and Trees and Timber In-
stitute, CNR-IVALSA, guided tours have been organized for a
survey of all the phases in the production chain of biomass
for energy use. The exhibitions will cover descriptions and op-
erations of machinery for the transport of logs, working fire-
wood, forestry chipping, shredding residues and pellet pro-
duction, collecting and conditioning agriculture residues and

uno spazio rilevante, nell’ambito di Eima International, è dato
agli esiti del “Progetto Biomasse Enama”, realizzato con il con-
tributo economico del MiPAAF, che tra le varie azioni ha previ-
sto la realizzazione di uno studio con cui si forniscono agli ope-
ratori del settore informazioni e strumenti d’indirizzo per l’au-
spicato sviluppo delle agroenergie. Tale studio, che si presen-
ta come un rapporto esaustivo e ben articolato, costituisce la
base logica su cui viene strutturato un fitto programma di se-
minari. In ciascuna delle 5 giornate si affrontano, infatti, le te-
matiche corrispondenti ai 5 capitoli del testo, approfondendo
con specifici workshop da 1 ora gli argomenti trattati, che ri-
guardano:
- Caratteristiche e disponibilità delle biomasse (mercoledì 7),
- Meccanizzazione e produzione di biocombustibili (giovedì 8),
- Tecnologie e sistemi per la conversione energetica delle bio-
masse: casi di studio (venerdì 9),
- Quadro normativo e incentivi (sabato 10),
- Sostenibilità, tracciabilità e certificazione (domenica 11).
Su queste macroaree sono previsti circa trenta incontri, che si
terranno in apposite sale realizzate nel Padiglione ENAMA (area
42) dove sarà possibile visitare gli stands delle principali Asso-
ciazioni che operano nel settore della bioenergia.
Il Progetto Biomasse ENAMA
The outcome of the EIMA Biomass Project, awarded financ-
ing by the Ministry for Agricultural and Forestry Policy, has
been given its own area within EIMA International for pro-
viding information on biomass issues.
Among the various activities involved in the project was the
completion of a study to provide members of the media with
instruments for addressing the hoped for development of
agri-energy. The study, published in the form of a detailed
and well organized report, lays out the fundamental logic on
which a heavy schedule of seminars have been planned. In
each of the five days, in fact, the issues covered in the five
sections of the report will be given thorough treatment in
workshops lasting one hour each. These issues are:
- Characteristics and availability of biomass (Wednesday the 7 th )
- Mechanization and production of bio-fuels (Thursday the 8 th )
- Technologies and systems for the generation of energy from
biomass: Study cases (Friday the 9 th )
- Regulatory framework and incentives (Saturday the 10 th )
- Sustainability, traceability and certification (Sunday the 11)
On these macro areas some thirty meetings are planned for
the halls set aside for the purpose in the ENAMA Pavilion
(Area 42) where visitors can tour the stands of the leading
associations at work in the bioenergy sector.
