l mercato italiano delle macchine agricole continua la sua
fase negativa, chiudendo i primi nove mesi dell’anno con
un calo delle vendite per tutte le principali tipologie di mac-
chine. Nel periodo gennaio-settembre risultano in calo le trat-
trici (-17,4%), le mietitrebbiatrici (-7,4%), le trattrici con pia-
nale di carico transporters (-24%) e i rimorchi (-11,3%). Per
quanto riguarda in particolare le trattrici, il passivo risulta me-
no pesante rispetto a quello dei primi sei mesi dell’anno,
quando le immatricolazioni avevano segnato un calo del
21,9%, ma il recupero di alcuni punti percentuali non miglio-
ra il bilancio di un comparto che conta, nei nove mesi, un to-
tale di 15.664 unità immatricolate contro le 18.964 dello
stesso periodo 2011. Con questo trend – commenta Fede-
rUnacoma, l’associazione dei costruttori aderente alla Con-
findustria che elabora i dati sulla base delle registrazioni for-
nite dal Ministero dei Trasporti – le previsioni sono per un to-
tale di immatricolazioni, a fine anno, non superiore alle 20.000
mila unità, a conferma di come il mercato della meccanizza-
zione agricola risenta della situazione economica generale,
contrassegnata da una sensibile riduzione degli investimen-
ti in macchinari e attrezzature per ogni attività produttiva. Esa-

he Italian agricultural machinery market is continuing a
downwards trend as shown by the decline in sales of the
leading types of machinery over the first nine months of
the year. The downturns in the January-September period came
to 17.4% for tractors and 7.4% for combines with transporters
with load beds plunging 24% and trailers off by 11.3%. In the
specific category of tractors, the drop was smaller than the
21.9% falloff in registrations reported for the first half of the
year but the recovery of a few percentage points failed to im-
prove the balance in the category for which a total of 15,664
units were registered in the first nine months of the year com-
pared to 18,964 sold in the same period in 2011. In comment
on the data provided by the Ministry for Transport and elabo-
rated by FederUnacoma, the association of manufacturers in
the sector within the National Manufacturers Federation, Con-
findustria, said the outlook for the full year is for sales of no
greater than 20,000 units to further confirm that the agricul-
tural mechanization sector is still experiencing the repercus-
sions of the general economic situation marked by significant
reductions in investments in machinery and equipment for all
production activities. A study of conditions region by region dis-
closes that Lazio and Piedmont are in line with the national av-
erages whereas steeper declines are reported for Emilia Ro-
magna, down 29.9%, Lombardy, off 24.7%, and Puglia with a
drop of 38.5%. Conditions are better in other regions around
the country and some trends have been bolstered by incentive
instruments activated at the local level. FederUnacoma Presi-
dent Massimo Goldoni said, “The presence of incentives acts
as an important support at a time like this and I find it unac-
ceptable that Rural Development Funds assigned to the regions
are not being used. We have a percentage of commitment of
these funds, earmarked in specific terms for the purchase of
machinery, of slightly more than 40% on average and we run
the risk of totally loosing the unspent shares of these funds be-
cause of the automatic disengagement mechanism,” he added.
