use has strongly evolved in efficiency and dissemination and now
hopes for theconsolidationof thesector require furtherstepsahead,
especially for optimizing supply proceduresand theuseof biomass
inasustainablewayandat the local level.Todate,publicaid forbioen-
ergy has beenaimedmainly at theproductionof green kWh,espe-
cially electricity, butmore attention should be focused on biomass
resources for the benefits they can bring to agricultural and forest
environments. For this purpose, awaymust be found for themore
equitable distribution of entire bioenergy production chains to spur
maintenance operations in forests andmarginal farmlandswhich
areabandonedand run the riskof degradation.
There is however no shortage of good practices in the country be-
cause, inpart,with this typeof initiative the financial andecological
componentsarenot inoppositionbut coexist perfectly. For this rea-
son, Itabia,the ItalianBiomassAssociation,pursuesanongoingcom-
mitment towork for the dissemination of production chainmodels
felt to be valid so that they can be duplicated nationally aswell as
abroad,witha specific focusondevelopingcountries.
Recentlyadelegationofadministrators, researchpersonnel anden-
trepreneurs from theRepublicofArgentinaarrived in Italy for astay
from24 June to5 July for astudyof themainpointsof specificpro-
ductionchainmodelscreated through theefficient integrationofsci-
entific research,businessandgovernance.Numerous technicalmeet-
ingswere held in the regions of Central andNorth Italy, Lazio,Tus-
temente impegnata in un’attività di diffusione dei modelli di fi-
liera ritenuti validi, per assicurarne quanto più possibile la re-
plicabilità sia in ambito nazionale, sia all’estero, con una spe-
cifica attenzione ai paesi in via di sviluppo.
Proprio di recente, dal 24 giugno al 5 luglio 2014, una dele-
gazione proveniente dalla Repubblica Argentina, composta da
amministratori, ricercatori e imprenditori è giunta in Italia per
prendere spunti dal nostro Paese su specifici modelli di filiera
nati dall’efficace integrazione tra la ricercascientifica, l’impresa
e la governance. I numerosi incontri tecnici, avvenuti in parec-
chie Regioni del Centro – Nord Italia (Lazio, Toscana, Veneto,
Lombardia,Valled’Aosta),sonostati organizzati graziealla col-
laborazione tra l’AssociazioneAISIM (Argentinae Italiaper un
Sistema Integrato dellaMontagna) e Itabia, al fine di attivare
progetti di cooperazione su diverse tematiche inerenti lo svi-
luppo rurale e forestale, come: valorizzazione delle biomasse
di origineagricola,agroindustriale, zootecnicae forestaleasco-
po energetico, per l’autosufficienza delle comunità locali; svi-
