Agricultural Machinery: Italian Exports Decline

25.07.2025

The year 2024 marks a setback for Italian agricultural machinery exports. According to Istat data, the total value of exports dropped by 15.1% compared to the previous twelve months, reaching 6.8 billion euros (down from 8 billion in 2023). The largest share of foreign revenue—over 65%—was generated by agricultural machinery, accounting for 4.5 billion euros, followed by tractors at 1.4 billion, and incomplete tractors and tractor parts at 840 million euros. The contraction in sales of Italian agriculturaly machines is mainly due to the global slowdown in demand for agricultural equipment (-21% for tractors and -9% for machinery), low profitability in farming activities, and ongoing geopolitical instability. The conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East have exacerbated tensions in commodity markets, increased price volatility and forced manufacturers to adjust their price lists.
