Italian exports of tractors and agricultural machinery grew in the first quarter of 2022. ISTAT data processed by FederUnacoma indicate, compared to the same period of 2021, an increase of 9.7% with a total value of 1 billion and 448 million euros . In the first three months of the year, France (196 million euros), the United States (186 million) and Germany (163 million) confirmed their position as the main destination markets for Italian agricultural machinery, absorbing a share of 37.8 % of our sector exports. Negative outlook instead for Italian trade with China, which, after the declines of the 2020-2021 two-year period, records a further setback (-31.3% in value). However, the contraction of the Chinese market was offset by the "sprint" of India (+ 64.3%), Romania (+57.7), South Africa (+ 57.1%) and the USA (+ 25.3%). Particularly significant, in the North American country, is the performance of Italian tractors whose imports, compared to the first quarter of 2021, doubled from 23 million to 46 million.
