The 2027 Tractor of the Year sets off from Naples

In June, Naples hosted the ‘Let the Challenge Begin’ event, the first stage in the process leading up to the announcement of the winners of the Tractor of the Year competition, organised by Vado e Torno Edizioni with BKT as the main sponsor, which each year recognises the most innovative tractors on the European market.

There are 23 candidate tractors, manufactured by the world’s leading manufacturers, which will be assessed by a jury comprising 26 journalists from 25 countries, representing Europe’s most important agricultural publications.

During the event in Naples, which was also attended by manufacturers and industry professionals, the competing tractors were presented to the jury as the first stop on a tour that will continue until the autumn, featuring field trials, technical analyses and data collection.

There are six award categories: HighPower for tractors with power output exceeding 300 Cv; MidPower for the 150 to 280 Cv segment; Utility for compact tractors between 70 and 150 Cv; Specialised for vehicles suited to work in vineyards and orchards; TotYBot for autonomous technologies; and Sustainable TotY for innovative technological solutions focused on sustainability.

The awards ceremony will take place on the first day of EIMA International, on 10 November, and the exhibition will also feature a dedicated area showcasing all the finalist tractors, with daily dynamic demonstrations.
