op Rain was created for regulating and changing of the an-
gle of any type of nozzle at work on sprayers located in the
field. The design of the system is based on substantial R&D
investments made by Irrimec, a company in Calendasco, near Pia-
cenza, specializing in the manufacture of systems and solutions for
irrigation.At the heart of Top Rain is a sensor device with the job of
calculating the rate of rotation of the carriage wheel and detecting
location in relation to the self-propelled machine.With the comple-
tion of this operation, the application’s software identifies the an-
gle of rotation selected by the operator. An Irrimec communiqué
said that for the same irrigation cycle, the operator can program
specific angles for various area of the terrain. In the Irrimec exhibi-
tion area at EIMA International, the company will train a spotlight
on the MDT12 MP self-propelled motor pump irrigation machine
capable of providing high performance and savings in water con-
sumption. The machine is equipped with a 160 cm Ø hose with a
length of 480 meters, an incorporated FTP Iveco NEF engine rated
at 238 hp and a coaxial rotating pump with the capacity of 180-
200 m³/hr.A residential muffler is fitted for the Iveco engine to curb
noise levels.The hydraulic system on the reel for rewinding the hose,
at speeds of 10 to 150 m/hr without the intervention of the user,
is managed by a variable capacity pump controlled by an onboard
ECU which, in turn, controls the capacity needed for moving as well
as reeling in the hose. The structure of this self-propelled MDT12
MP robotically welded in the factory, given a grain finish and treat-
ed with a powdered paint job with zero impact on the environment.
This polyester finish guarantees great bodywork resistance against
bumps, obsolescence and atmospheric agents.This model is avail-
able in two wheel or four wheel versions.

deato per regolare e modificare l’angolo di rotazione di qualsiasi
tipo di getto in funzione della posizione dell’applicazione sul
campo, il sistema “Top Rain” nasce dai forti investimenti in R&S
della Irrimec, impresa piacentina (la sede è a Calendasco) spe-
cializzata nello sviluppo di sistemi e soluzioni per l’irrigazione. Il
cuore del dispositivo è costituito da un sensore incaricato di mi-
surare la rotazione della ruota del carrello e di rilevarne la posi-
zione rispetto alla macchina semovente; una volta compiuta tale
operazione, un applicativo software procede con l’individuazione
dell’angolo di rotazione prescelto dall’operatore. Per uno stesso
ciclo di irrigazione – precisa con una nota la ditta emiliana – l’uti-
lizzatore può programmare un angolo specifico su differenti zone
del terreno. Nei sui spazi espositivi all’interno di Eima Internatio-
nal, Irrimec mette in particolare evidenza il modello MDT12 MP,
una macchina semovente con motopompa che si distingue per la
sua capacità di offrire prestazioni elevate risparmiando sui con-
sumi di acqua. Equipaggiato con un tubo del diametro di 160 cen-
timetri e dalla lunghezza di 480 metri, MDT12 MP è alimentato
da un motore (incorporato) FTP IVECO NEF da 238 HP, dotato sia
di una marmitta residenziale – per ridurre la rumorosità – sia di
una pompa coassiale plurigirante con portata di 180-200 metri
cubi l’ora. Il sistema idraulico di rientro del tubo (la velocità può
variare da 15 a 150 m/ora senza l’intervento dell’utilizzatore) è
gestito da una pompa a portata variabile comandata dal compu-
ter di bordo, il quale, a sua volta, controlla la portata necessaria
alla movimentazione come all’avvolgimento. La struttura del se-
movente, saldata da un robot, è granigliata e trattata con vernice
a polveri a impatto ambientale zero; le finiture con vernice polie-
stere garantiscono un’elevata resistenza agli urti, all’obsolescenza
e agli agenti atmosferici. Su questo modello è possibile sceglie-
re tra un allestimento a due o a quattro ruote.
