Bridgestone nel comparto dellameccanizzazione agricola, dove lamultinazio-
nale giapponese è stata fino ad oggi presente con il brand Firestone. «La filosofia alla
basedellanuovagammadi pneumatici per agricoltura–hadettoLothar Schmitt,Diret-

re un perfetto equilibrio tra efficienza agricola e salvaguardia dell’ambiente. Il marchio

unamaggiore sostenibilità». Il VT-Tractor infatti è stato pensato per le aziende agricole
cheutilizzanoattrezzature tecnologicamenteavanzate impiegandole inoperazioni heavy
duty;attivitàper lequali viene richiestaunaelevataefficienzaeun ridottocompattamento
del terreno. Per questo, nello sviluppo del nuovo pneumatico i progettisti dellaBridge-
stone hanno lavorato soprattutto al contenimento della pressione di contatto e all’am-
pliamentodell’areadi contattocon il suolo (+26% rispettoadaltri pneumatici di pari ca-
tegoria, secondo dati del costruttore*). I VT Tractor pertanto sono in grado di operare
nonsoloconunapressionedi gonfiaggiominoremaancheconuna improntaa terrapiù
grande;caratteristichechenonsolo riducono l’effettodi compattamentodel terreno,ma
ottimizzano la trazione (lamacchina lavora inmanierapiùspedita)econtribuisconoa te-
neresotto controllo i consumi (conun risparmiodi 36 litri ogni 50ettari, comedichiara
lacasacostruttrice**). Insomma,per lamultinazionaleconsedeaTokyo,quellonel set-

to 42 inch sizes - marks the debut of the Bridgestone brand in the agri-
cultural machinery sector, where the Japanese multinational has up to
nowbeenpresent with the Firestonebrand. “Thephilosophy behindBridgestone’s

farms that use technologically advancedequipment for heavy duty operations, ac-
tivitieswhichdemandhighefficiency and very low soil compaction.Thuswhende-
veloping the new tyre, Bridgestone’s designers concentratedmainly on reducing
the contact pressureand increasing the contact areawith theground (+26% com-
pared toother tyres in the same category, according to themanufacturer’s data*).
Thismeans that VT-TRACTOR tyres are able to operate not only with less inflation
pressure but alsowith a larger contact area on the ground, features that not only
reduce the effect of soil compaction, but optimise traction (the machine works
faster) and contribute to control consumption (a savings of 36 litres per 50acres,
according to the manufacturer**). In short, the agricultural sector debut of the
multinational corporation headquartered inTokyowas one done in style.
