Massey Ferguson MF 8S Tractor Passes the Desert Test

The Massey Ferguson MF 8S Dyna E-Power tractor has completed the Morocco Desert Challenge, one of the most important cross-country rally raid races in the world. The 200-horsepower model from the AGCO Group finished the competition in 75th place out of 144 participants, and fourth out of eight competitors in the truck category. “The team involved – commented Jérôme Aubrion, marketing director of Massey Ferguson for Europe and the Middle East – did an excellent job preparing the machine for this adventure, which demonstrates the reliability of the MF 8S. We are proud to be the first tractor to complete this challenging race.” In order to tackle the extreme challenges of the desert, the MF 8S was transformed into a race vehicle with Michelin Evobib VF 600/70 R30 front tires and VF 710/70 R42 rear tires, equipped with the centralized PTG system capable of inflating and deflating the tires in three and a half minutes. External additions included, among others, a safety cage, a second fuel tank, modified controls, two racing seats, an independent rear hydraulic lifter, and a front hydraulic lifting system. To take on such a complex challenge, modifications to the axle suspension were also necessary, as well as an increase in maximum speed up to 75 km/h.
