reat news for BCS in Abbiategrasso which is further
strengthening its reach in the field of groundskeeping
with the launch of a dedicated brand name, Ma.Tra, to
join the other four trademarks in the group. The three models
in this new lineup are arriving in Bologna for their debuts.
The Ma.Tra ride-on front mower is a highly refined machine on
the side of attractive esthetics and on that of the mechanics
with high performance ensured by a two-cylinder Briggs & Strat-
ton engine turning out 15.2 hp and a Kanzaki hydrostatic trans-
mission with flow damper providing the operator with maximum
comfort in operation. Mowing is performed by three blades. The
first one, reduced in size, develops forced ventilation to improve
loading into the collection bin where a sensor signals the dri-
ver when the 300 liter bin has been filled. This mower has been
designed and built for semi-professional use, especially on such
prized grounds as parks and gardens, as well as for mowing
more extensive plots of land. The Ma.Tra also carries the ad-
vantage of a turning radius of 320 mm making the machine
highly maneuverable. The Ma.Tra 130 and Ma.Tra 140, on the
other hand, are designed for clearing uncultivated land on the
level or on uneven terrain which require machines which are
comfortable, dynamic, productive and especially safe. Thus
these machines feature robust construction and a low center
of gravity to ensure maximum safety for the operator even on
steep slopes. The Ma.Tra 130 and Ma.Tra. 140 differ in their
power plants, a 10.2 hp Honda for the 130 and a 16 hp Brig-
gs & Stratton engine for the 140, but carry the same con-
struction characteristics. Both are equipped with spring-mount-
ed seats with armrests incorporating ergonomic controls and
ensure maximum riding comfort, anti-skid tire treads for sta-
bility on slopes and reliable Kanzaki transmissions. The cutting
decks house a single blade for an 85 cm width in a low-noise
version for mowing and mulching branches up to 15 mm Ø.
The Ma.Tra 130 and Ma.Tra. 140 models have a turning radius
of 450 mm, greater than the 160’s but still limited enough to
facilitate work in tight areas and around trees.

randi novità in casa BCS. L’azienda di Abbiategrasso si ripre-
senta con forza nel comparto della manutenzione del verde con
il lancio di un marchio dedicato, “Ma. Tra”, che va ad affiancarsi
ai tradizionali quattro brand del Gruppo. Tre i modelli disponibili su que-
sta nuova linea di prodotto, che sarà tenuta a battesimo proprio in oc-
casione della manifestazione bolognese. Ma.Tra 160 è un tosaerba an-
teriore curato tanto nel design (accattivante) quanto nella meccanica,
grazie al suo performante e affidabile propulsore bicilindrico Briggs &
Stratton da 15,2 hp, e alla sua trasmissione idrostatica Kanzaki con
smorzatore di flusso che assicura all’operatore il massimo comfort nei
movimenti. Il dispositivo di taglio è composto da tre lame, la prima del-
le quali – di dimensioni ridotte – sviluppa una ventilazione forzata che
migliora il carico dei residui vegetali nel cesto di raccolta dove un sen-
sore segnala all’utilizzatore il raggiungimento della capacità di carico
(300 litri). Destinato a impieghi semiprofessionali, in particolare alla ma-
nutenzione di superfici “pregiate” (parchi e giardini) senza disdegnare
però gli impieghi di rifinitura su grandi aree, Ma.Tra 160 ha tra i suoi plus
anche un ridotto raggio di sterza 320 mm che conferisce all’applicazio-
ne una grande libertà di manovra. Le Ma.Tra 130 e Ma.Tra. 140, invece,
sono stati pensati per lavori di falciatura su aree incolte, pianeggianti o
scoscese, che richiedono l’uso di strumenti di lavoro comodi, dinamici,
produttivi e, soprattutto, sicuri. Le due macchine, infatti, hanno una strut-
tura così robusta e un baricentro talmente basso da offrire all’operato-
re sempre la massima sicurezza, perfino sulle pendenze più pronuncia-
te. Ma.Tra 130 e Ma.Tra. 140 si distinguono per le motorizzazioni – un
Honda da 10,2 hp per il “130”, un propulsore Briggs & Stratton da 16
hp per il modello “140” –, mentre condividono il medesimo profilo co-
struttivo. Entrambi sono equipaggiati con un sedile molleggiato (ha brac-
cioli e comandi ergonomici) che assicura il massimo comfort, con ruote
a battistrada antiscivolo (sinonimo di stabilità sulle pendenze), con l’af-
fidabile trasmissione idrostatica Kanzaki. Dotati di un tosaerba sotto-
scocca monolama da 85 cm di larghezza in versione “low-noise”, per fal-
ciare e triturare anche rami fino a 15 mm di diametro, i modelli Ma.Tra
130 e Ma.Tra. 140 presentano un raggio di sterzata di 450 mm, supe-
riore rispetto a quello del “160”, ma comunque abbastanza contenuto
per lavorare senza problemi negli spazi ristretti o intorno agli alberi.
