so impattoambientaleagli impianti per l’ottimizzazionedelle ri-
sorse idriche, finoalleapplicazioni informaticheesatellitari per
lamappatura del territorio e la gestione scientifica delle lavo-
razioni,nonc’èambitonelquale l’industriadellameccanicaagri-
cola non abbia progettato e sviluppato innovazioni importanti.
Questo emerge dalla relazione che il presidente di FederUna-
comaMassimoGoldoniha tenutonel corsodell’incontrosul te-
ma “Ecologia ed economia: dalla contrapposizione alla siner-
gia”, svoltosi il 27agostoscorsonell’ambitodelMeetingdi Ri-
mini. Inunoscenarioche vedeun’imponente incrementodella
popolazionemondiale, che vede crescerenon soltanto i fabbi-
sogni alimentarimaanche l’aspettativadi unamigliorequalità
della vitaper tantepopolazioni sinoadoggi relegatenelle “pe-
riferie del mondo”, garantire la produttività e insieme la con-
servazionedelle risorsenaturali èdivenutaunasfidadecisiva.

not planned and development important innovations. These

nessing a significant increase in theworld population and the
growthnot only of the food requirement but also expectations
of abetter quality of life formany people thus far relegated to
“themargins of the world”, production guarantees along with
the conservationof natural resourceshavebecomeadecisive
challenge.“Theefforts for innovationput inbyour industrial sec-
tor involve great costs for themanufacturers facing the risk of
seeing themnullifiedbyasystemwhich fails to rewardvirtuous
mechanical engineering enterprises lacking financial backing
for research, for starters.”
