Mowing and irrigation
The ideal height for cutting the grass of a football pitch is between
25 to 30mm. In thewinter good practice is tomow at the height of
30mm or close to it whereas in the spring-summer period it would
be better to reduce the cutting height by 10% compared to thewin-
ter height. Themower, generally a ride on type, can have helicoidal
blades,8or10of them,or ahorizontal blade.Also robotmowerswith
work widths of 60-80 cm or beyond are suitable. The frequency of

ze nutrizionali, gli stress termici e anche possibili attacchi fungini.
Gli interventi manutentivi riguardano: il taglio dell’erba e l’irrigazione,
la sfeltratura e l’aerazione del suolo; la sabbiatura e la trasemina o
anche la rinzollatura totale o parziale; la concimazione, i trattamenti e
la pulizia.
Rasatura e irrigazione
L’altezza di taglio dell’erba, idonea per il gioco del calcio, è compresa
tra i 25 e i 30mm. Nel periodo invernale è bene tenere il taglio ad al-
tezza pari o prossima a30mm,mentre nella primavera-estate l’altez-
za èmeglio ridurla di un 10% rispetto a quella della stagione inver-
